Hello, my name is Carla Vaughn, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with six years of clinical experience. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science and a Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Houston–Clear Lake. Originally from El Paso, Texas, I moved to the Houston area at a young age and proudly call it home.
Prior to entering private practice, I dedicated 28 years to the field of education, working with a wide range of age groups—from early childhood through junior college. For the past 10 years of my education career, I served as a Certified School Counselor in both elementary and high school settings. I also spent nine years teaching third and fourth grade and nine years working at a local junior college, primarily supporting international students. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for educators and a strong understanding of the diverse challenges individuals and families face across different life stages.
I am passionate about helping people grow, heal, and discover their best selves. My goal is to create a supportive, compassionate space where clients feel empowered to make meaningful and lasting changes. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, navigating life transitions, or seeking greater self-awareness, I am here to walk alongside you in your journey. I believe that our past experiences do not have to define our future—while change is not always easy, it is possible.
Outside of the office, I enjoy live music, movies, Astros baseball, and spending time with loved ones. Traveling is one of my greatest passions, and my goal is to visit every continent. Above all, my absolute favorite thing to do is laugh – it just makes the world feel brighter!
