Biography

Hello, my name is Jocelyn Perez, and I am a Master’s-level Graduate Intern pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Houston–Clear Lake. My academic training has provided a foundation in counseling theory, ethical practice, and evidence-based interventions, including person-centered therapy and mindfulness-based approaches, which I continue to apply and refine through supervised clinical experience.

Through my graduate training, I am developing core clinical competencies, including active listening, clinical documentation, case conceptualization, and the application of evidence-based interventions within a structured treatment setting. This training allows me to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical skills in a supervised clinical environment.
My clinical interests include the assessment and support of individuals experiencing anxiety, stress-related concerns, and adjustment difficulties across a variety of life circumstances. I am particularly interested in providing services within a structured, client-centered framework that emphasizes collaboration, treatment planning, and continuity of care.

I am currently a Master’s-level intern under the supervision of Ana Valenzuela, LPC-S, NCC, LCDC, CTRP-C, and I anticipate completing my master's degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling in December 2027.
