Biography

Hello, my name is Todd Murphy. I am a graduate student at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Originally from Houston, I hold a double-major in Archaeology and Ancient Studies from Columbia University. Before moving into the counseling field, I spent many years working in Quality Assurance. That experience taught me the value of being thorough, observant, and patient when working with clients.

I am also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. My military service provided me with a personal understanding of resilience and the practicalities of navigating major life transitions. I bring this perspective into my clinical work, where I am dedicated to helping individuals from all backgrounds find their footing when facing difficult or uncertain times.

My goal is to provide a safe, grounded, and non-judgmental environment where every client feels empowered to explore their narrative. My clinical approach is informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and an interest in expressive modalities like Sand Tray Therapy, which allow for creative, non-verbal exploration of internal experiences. I am committed to helping you develop the practical tools and resilience necessary to navigate your current challenges and work toward consistent, meaningful improvement in your daily life.
