Biography
Melanie Murphey graduated summa-cum-laude from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Human Development and Family Studies. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Master’s of Science Degree in Social Work with a specialty in Adult Therapy and Gerontology.
Melanie believes there is a time in everyone’s life when they could benefit from an objective listener. A person who could affirm their strengths and identify any self-defeating patterns holding them back. She considers it an honor to witness each person’s unique journey. Continually inspired by people’s inner strength and wisdom.
Over the past 14 years she has valued collaborating with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, women's issues, career struggles, spirituality, overcoming abuse, and healing relationships. Grieving is a natural response to any kind of significant loss. If you feel loss then grieve it.
Melanie is also trained in EMDR, which is one of the most broadly researched therapies. EMDR removes the emotional distress, fear, and anxiety associated with disturbing life experiences or traumatic events. EMDR can significantly shorten the number of visits needed to achieve positive results.
