Hello, my name is Luis Garcia. I am currently a student at the University of Houston-Clear Lake under the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master’s Program. I am a native Houstonian, born and raised. I am also bilingual in both Spanish and English. In my history, I have worked with both children (ages 10-17) who were immigrants, and youth (ages 18-25) that were homeless as a youth care specialist. In my previous experiences working with them, I came to understand how trauma can affect someone, but also they can be resilient to said experiences. My goal is to foster a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where a person is able to share their own experiences, and ultimately write their own stories that can guide them through their own healing process.
