Biography

Lana Andrea has worked in Houston area psychiatric hospitals and outpatient therapy clinics as a fully Licensed Professional Counselor since 2003, License #18383. Her license and practice are regulated by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors.

Lana received her Master of Arts Degree and clinical training in counseling at the University of Houston Clear Lake. Prior to becoming a licensed counselor, Lana spent over 12 years working in human services with agencies including MHMRA, Child Protective Services, and Youth and Family Counseling of Brazoria County.


Lana has had experience working with people of all ages and backgrounds and uses a client-centered approach with a heavy emphasis on cognitive-behavioral strategies, and solution-focused, reality-based approaches. She has worked with clients facing many issues, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, addiction, and everyday life problems including work stress, family and relationship conflicts, grief and loss, education and career planning, and the various adjustments that go along with moving through life.


Lana has had a great deal of experience providing group psychotherapy and has found this approach to be very beneficial for many clients, as it provides additional insights and support. Lana is equally comfortable working with individuals and families, according to client needs.

Lana was born in Pasadena, Texas and has lived in the greater Houston area for most of her life. She has three adult children and two granddaughters. She loves art, travel and spending time with her family and friends.
