Hello, my name is Marta Villarreal and I am currently a master level graduate clinician at Clearhope Counseling and Wellness. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Southern New Hampshire University and I will soon be completing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I am currently under the supervision of Ana Valenzuela, LPC.

I am pursuing a career in counseling because I want to help individuals reach their maximum potential in life, regardless of the setbacks they have endured. I believe that with the right skills and tools fit to their specific needs, everyone has the ability to overcome any and every obstacle. For this reason, I use a person-centered approach which allows me to meet individuals where they are and helps individuals recognize that within themselves is the capacity for positive growth. Other therapeutic perspectives I tend to gravitate towards include Cognitive Behavioral Theory and Dialectical behavioral therapy.

My goal is to help individuals recognize within themselves that the challenges and struggles they have experienced do not define who they are. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is most important to help clients grow and feel empowered, while maintaining a safe, non-judgmental space.

I have experience working with children and adolescents in school and mental health settings and enjoy working with this population. Using my personal experiences and knowledge in this field, I am committed to working with individuals who have experienced depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, trauma, domestic violence, stress, and more.
