Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Belinda Lopez is a psychotherapist who earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Houston (1996), and her Master of Social Work Degree with a Concentration in Mental Health from the University of Houston-Graduate School of Social Work (1998). Belinda is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Approved Clinical Supervisor. Belinda is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Academy of Certified Social Workers.
Belinda utilizes a trans-theoretical approach that is client centered, considers the individual person in their environment, and may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused therapy and Emotion Focused therapy. Belinda also believes in meeting the client where they are emotionally and spiritually, and sees therapy as a journey that is to be guided by mutually agreed upon goals. Belinda believes success in therapy is contingent upon open and honest communication, and seeks to provide a non-judgmental, nurturing environment utilizing the strengths perspective to promote personal growth and healing.
Belinda has extensive experience in working with women and families, and previously facilitated the Pregnancy and Post-Partum Depression Support Group at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas. Belinda works with individuals, couples and families in a variety of areas including women’s health and wellness, depression, anxiety, major life transitions, as well as grief and loss. Belinda is bilingual in English and Spanish, and is also passionate about working with the Latino/Hispanic community.
