Licensed Professional Counselor
Laura approaches therapy as a collaboration between client and therapist. She uses a creative blend of techniques to facilitate her clients' development and mastering of skills to reduce the symptoms that moved them to seek therapy services. She meets her clients where they are, as they are. She supports and encourages them as they become able to lead their best, most fulfilling, and calmest lives.
Laura provides thoughtful, interactive therapy services for children, adolescents, and adults. She excels in treating people with anxiety, depression, abuse/trauma, intense stress, anger, life stage transitions, and occupational or social difficulties. She is an affirming provider to the LGBTQIA+ community. She is well-versed in the challenges specific to caregivers. Depending on her client's preferences, her sessions can be held either in-office or via video.
An eclectic blending of cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, play, stress reduction, and mindfulness-based techniques, all sprinkled with a bit of humor, summarize Laura's approach to therapy. She graduated with her master’s degree from Stephen F. Austin University in 1996 and received her Licensed Professional Counselor license in 1998 (#14878).
