Biography

My name is Noemi Farias and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Texas (License #203026). I earned my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Houston- Clear Lake in 2017.

I strive to create a safe space and build a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust and acceptance for clients to overcome the struggles they are facing in life and their relationships. I believe healing begins when we feel safe, seen, and connected to another human being.

I am an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trained therapist and derive from several modalities, such as ego-state therapy, somatic experiencing, mindfulness, expressive arts therapy, and cognitive processing therapy. My approach to therapy is based on systems theory with an emphasis on providing trauma-informed collaborative care.

I have worked with adults, children, adolescents, couples, and families of diverse backgrounds struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, self-esteem issues, post-traumatic stress, and grief.

Additionally, I have had the privilege of helping clients process and create meaning of complex traumatic experiences, including: domestic violence, family violence, sexual abuse and violence, childhood abuse, racial trauma, attachment injuries, immigration, developmental trauma, and psychological abuse. I am an advocate and ally to the LGBTQIA community.

Connect with me if you think I may be a good therapeutic fit for you, your child, or family.
